Hypothyroid Diet

Hypothyroidism (under-active thyroid) can remain undetected for years. People commonly have the symptoms of hypothyroidism even though their blood tests indicate that their thyroid function is normal. This is because standard pathology tests for thyroid function can have difficulty detecting sub clinical cases of hypothyroidism. The most common symptoms of hypothyroidism are chronic tiredness, constipation, feeling the cold and dry skin. If you are in a high risk category for thyroid dysfunction - have a family member with a thyroid condition (especially your mother); are at the menopausal age; have experienced lots of stress in the past two-three years; or have hormonal imbalances - then its important that you support your thyroid, even if the tests tell that your thyroid is normal. One of the best ways to support thyroid function is with diet. Certain foods improve hypothyroidism by supplying the essential minerals that the thyroid needs to function and produce hormones. These include: 1. Tyrosine-rich foods. The amino acid tyrosine combines with iodine to make the hormone thyroxine. These foods include meat, fish, turkey and chicken breast, low fat milk and yogurt, almonds, avocado, bananas, lima beans, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, lentils. Supplements of tyrosine should be taken on an empty stomach so that it doesnt have to compete with other amino acids. 2. Iodine-rich foods. Iodine is needed to make thyroid hormones. Ideal food sources include Celtic sea salt, seaweed (sushi, nori rolls), salt water fish and sea food. Iodized salt is available but should be used in small amounts once or twice a week along with a good quality Celtic sea salt. Iodine supplements are usually in the form of kelp tablets. Consult your health practitioner before using these, because the wrong dose can unbalance your thyroid. 3. High quality protein. All of our bodys glands and hormones are made from protein. Try to eat high quality lean protein at every meal. 4. Selenium-rich foods meat, chicken, salmon, tuna, seafood, whole unrefined grains, brazil nuts, brewers yeast, broccoli, dairy products, garlic, onions and black strap molasses. 5. Supplements of Vitamin B complex and essential fatty acids because they help to balance the entire hormonal system. 6. Sunlight while not a food, its important to get a daily dose of safe sun. Light stimulates the pineal gland, which in turn positively affects the thyroid as well as all the other endocrine glands. Certain foods are detrimental for hypothyroidism because they can inhibit the production of thyroid hormones. 1. Soy products. Isoflavones are hormone-like substances found in soy products. High consumption of soy products have been found to suppress thyroid function in some people and can even cause or worsen hypothyroidism. In particular, an isoflavone called genistein, appears to reduce thyroid hormone output by blocking the activity of an enzyme called thyroid peroxidase. This enzyme is responsible for adding iodine onto the thyroid hormones. How much is too much soy? Each person can tolerate a different amount and unfortunately soy is hidden in many processed and refined foods. If you have a family history of thyroid disease or a diet low in the minerals iodine and selenium, you need to be careful of your soy intake. Reduce your consumption of soy products (soy milk, tofu, tempeh, miso, soy sauce) to a maximum of two or three times per week. If you have already been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, or you display the common symptoms, then reduce your intake to less than twice in a week. 2. Cruciferous vegetables broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, mustard, rutabagas, kohlrabi, and turnips. Isothiocyanates are the category of substances in cruciferous vegetables that have been associated with decreased thyroid function. They appear to reduce thyroid function by blocking thyroid peroxidase, and also by disrupting messages that are sent across the membranes of thyroid cells. Cooking these vegetables does make the isothiocyanates less available. Also, because they are so good for us in other ways, only restrict this group if you have been actually diagnosed with hypothyroidism or have strong symptoms. 3. Low progesterone goes hand in hand with low thyroid, so avoid foods that promote oestrogen dominance. This includes any animal product that has not been produced organically (chicken, eggs, dairy, beef, lamb, pork, etc.). All of these foods are available organic. 4. It is believed by some researchers that chlorine and fluoride (found in most tap water) block iodine receptors in the thyroid gland, eventually leading to hypothyroidism. 5. Gluten is linked to thyroid dysfunction (both hyper and hypo thyroid) so if you have any digestive problems or any one in your family with a gluten sensitivity, it would be worth dramatically reducing your gluten intake. How To Become A Transcriber

The nature of medical transcribers work is essential in all hospitals. Medical transcribers have to note down the dictated recordings made by physicians and other health care professionals and accordingly transcribe them into history and physical reports, operative reports, pathology reports, summaries, psychiatric and so on. Medical transcriber plays a major role to keep an accurate record of all aspects of a patient. Their job is to congregate the data connected to the patient in audio/digital format by either using a Dictaphone or voice recorder and then accordingly transcribe it in text. To sum this up in simple words, Medical Transcription is a process of transforming dictations of physicians and other health care professional from audio to written text. Becoming a medical transcriber is a highly respectable post and is essential in all hospitals. In order to become a successful medical transcriber you need to complete a 1 year certificate course or a 2 years associates program. Becoming a medical transcriber is soon turning out to be a highly paid job, though not without its share of difficulties. Transcribing the right information requires a lot of hard work, stress and concentration on part of the medical transcriber. The accuracy in medical transcription is of utmost importance as the transcribed information greatly reflects the future medical strategy of the patient. The poor quality of some of the audio files adds the woes to the performance of many transcribers. However, people are still sticking to the profession considering the high levels of salary they derive just by transcribing the data in text form. How to become a Medical transcriber? You have to complete a post secondary training in the field of medical transcription, offered by numerous professional schools, community colleges & distance learning programs. Completion of a 1 year certificate course or a 2 years associates program including assignments in medical terminology, Anatomy, legal issues, Physiology, Pharmacology, laboratory tests and values, medical equipment and procedures. In US its mandatory for medical professionals to maintain a precise medical record of all the aspects of a patient. The employers from US find it cheaper to outsource transcription work abroad to countries like India, Pakistan, Philippines and Caribbean. There is no doubt that low cost and availability of educated personnel are the primary reasons for outsourcing transcription jobs to these countries. In the coming years, hospitals will continue to employ a large percentage of medical transcribers thereby resulting in rapid growth of medical transcribers all over. This article may be reproduced as long as the following resource box remains intact: For complete help and advice on transcription, read the E-book Home Based Transcription Guide - How to make Money Listening to Words! created by Nathian Jackson. Speak Up For Success - How To Ace An Interview

How many times have you received a voicemail message that you needed to replay several times just to get the person's name? What about your own speech? Are you clear and articulate? Do you speak slowly and clearly enough for the person on the other end of the telephone to clearly understand your name and telephone number? Communication skills can mean the difference between not getting a call back for a second interview and getting the job! So many times I am told by managers at banks, financial institutions and large corporations that poor speech in and of itself may knock a candidate out of the running. Why do people often speak like they have marbles in their mouth? Why is it that some people often need to be asked to repeat what they are saying? In a fast paced business environment with so much on everybody's plate people tend to speak quickly or, to not even pay attention to how and what they are saying because they are often doing more than one thing. With so much competition for jobs, why not give your self a competitive edge and learn to improve your communication skills in order to stand out among your competition. Better communication skills will make the difference in getting your dream job or, not getting called back for the second interview. www.globalenglish.com recently revealed outstanding statistics on the millions of dollars lost in companies due to miscommunication skills of the employees in companies. If you are looking to advance your career within your current firm or outside of your present company, think about your own communication skills. Do people frequently ask you to repeat what you have just said? Do they ask you to speak louder? Could your speaking style prevent you from getting that dream job? Does this sound familiar? You are sitting at your desk, reading an email, thinking of a meeting in five minutes and the telephone rings. You are not completely paying attention to what and how you are speaking since you are busy reading the email. So, the person on the other end of the telephone asks you to repeat yourself, and only then, do you realize that you need to stop typing on the computer and pay attention to the conversation. What if the information being relayed to you pertained to an important job opportunity and you missed a great opportunity to make a great first impression? Remember these tips to help you recover immediately! 1. Learn to listen! Listening skills are critical! Be sure to pay attention when you are being told information about the potential job. Give your full attention to the person who is speaking. You may need to recall the information a few minutes later be able to ask intelligent questions based on that information. Be sure not to let your mind wander. You cannot listen well if you are thinking of what to say next. Stay focused. Sit up straight and look directly at the speaker. Now and then nod to let the speaker know you are actively listening. Be sure to let the speaker finish what they are saying. Speakers appreciate the opportunity to finish what they are saying. When you interrupt, it appears as if you are not listening. 2. Slow down your rate of speech. Simply slowing down your rate will significantly improve your speech quality. The average rate per minute varies from about 130-150 WPM. For suggestions on how to check your rate of speech send an email to info@corporatespeechsolutions.com 3 Finish your words. Remember hearing those words, "don't swallow your words?" People are in such a hurry to complete a task at hand, they forget to finish their words. Old becomes 'ol; fishing becomes fishin'; business becomes busin'; you get the idea. In the course of a conversation, this doesn't just cause "sloppy speech," but, it forces the listener to work harder to understand you. In business, people don't want to work harder. They want to get the information and move to the next item. Learn to finish your words. 4. Many words in English sound similar. Still vs steal? Hill vs heal? Cab vs Cap? If you do not speak clearly, how will the listener be sure what you are saying. "Will you grab the cab?" Is your friend asking you to grab his cap that he left in the other room, or the cab so you can head downtown together? Many foreign and regional accents negatively impact one's communication. One on one training by a certified Speech-Language Pathologist may be necessary to help the individual learn the speech sounds that are not a part of their native language. Learning to put your tongue between your teeth for a clear production of /th/ is unnatural to someone that was not born in the United States. It is very difficult to adapt this new style of speech production into their everyday speech without professional training and daily practice. For regional dialects, vowel production may differ greatly in varying regions of the United States and may also require skilled training and practice. 5. Learn to speak clearly and effectively on the telephone. Today, most of our daily business is conducted over the telephone. Often we have meetings with multiple people on the telephone. There are many high frequency sounds that are lost over the telephone and if you do not learn to speak clearly your message can be misinterpreted. Speaking clearly takes practice but is an integral part of effective business communication. Wisdom Teeth Extraction - What Are They Thinking?

When I was growing up my dentist mentioned to be about the possibility of getting my wisdom teeth removed. However, he never said it was something I had to do until I was 20. At this point in my life I didn't question him, as he showed me the panoramic x-ray. About a month later, I was walking outside and I noticed severe pain in my mouth. One of my wisdom teeth was coming in through the gum. It was at that time that I thought maybe my dentist was right. I made an appointment with an oral surgeon. Looking back, I am not sure why I didn't do more research and why I didn't question my dentist and oral surgeon. Although many people choose extraction it might be a bad decision. Writing in the journal, Health Policy and Ethics, retired US dentist, Dr Jay Friedman is scathing about the unnecessary prophylactic removal of wisdom teeth, which he labels a public health hazard."At least two thirds of these extractions, associated costs, and injuries are unnecessary, constituting a silent epidemic of iatrogenic injury that afflicts tens of thousands of people with lifelong discomfort and disability", he writes. According to Friedman, there just is no evidence to justify preventative surgery, although it does line the pockets of the dental profession, especially oral and maxillofacial surgeons who earn on average over half a million US dollars a year from the forty minute procedure. That is a lot of money and may be the reason why there is still such a push in the US for wisdom teeth extractions. According to Dr. Friedman, instead of evidence, misinformation and myths drive the multibillion-dollar industry, one of the most common being that wisdom teeth have a high level of pathology, whereas in reality no more than 12% of impacted teeth are affected. This is similar to the incidence of appendicitis yet we don't routinely remove other organs just in case. Dr. Friedman also states neither is it true that the pressure of erupting wisdom teeth causes crowding of other teeth, saying it's just not possible for one tooth which develops in spongy superficial bone with little firm support to push over 14 other well-implanted teeth. In Europe, the madness has ended. In fact, the National Institute for Clinical Evidence has gone so far as to tell dentists and oral surgeons to stop removing healthy impacted wisdom teeth due to the risk of nerve damage. In addition, third molar extractions are far from harmless, with atleast sixteen known complications including infection, permanent paraesthesia, dry socket, trismus, and death. Dr. Friedman states, far from the standard of care, prophylactic extraction is a silent epidemic. I agree and feel that it is time for something to be done in the US about this. The evidence to remove wisdom teeth just is not there and instead is causing people lifelong pain and suffering that never should have happened. Shawn Thomas writes about his new daily persistent headache brought on by his wisdom teeth removal. To find out more you can visit http://www.teethremoval.com

Echocardiography Online

Online Echocardiography Schools offer online programs for gaining certificates and degrees in the field. Echocardiography focuses on imaging heart and cardiovascular functions. Students juggling a career, family, and other obligations don't have to leave home to study, but are able to earn the same degree online as students in on-campus programs. Online echocardiography university and college program students often are able to enjoy learning with students in the program through shared online venues, as classroom technology connects students and faculty with one another for interactive discussion and study. Online echocardiography education integrates accepted principles with cutting edge technology to develop quality leadership in their students through quality accredited programs of study. Students of echocardiography can expect to study basic courses in anatomy, physiology, and pathology; echocardiographic pattern recognition; ultrasound scanning techniques of the heart; and congenital heart diseases as relate to the practice of adult echocardiography. Students should be presented with current theory and scanning techniques for medical sonography; Doppler imaging techniques; and vascular and cerebral vascular diseases. Advanced degrees in echocardiography will be presented with issues relating to clinical practicum in echocardiology and vascular technology. Degreed techonologists with specialties in echocardiography perform noninvasive tests using ultrasound instruments. Echocardiography technicians use equipment that directs high-frequency sound waves toward specific areas of the patient's body and read echoes of the sound waves that bounce back and form an image on a screen. Echocardiographers view and record those images for review and diagnosis by physicians. Echocardiography technicians monitor visual images for subtle differences between healthy and affected areas of the body, select equipment settings, perform echocardiography procedures, and explain procedures to patients. Echocardiography professionals work primarily in hospitals and private laboratory settings, with standard 40-hour weeks being common. Hands-on experience in laboratory course(s) may be required for certification or a degree in this field of study. Be sure to inquire whether or not classroom requirements for certification or a degree in this field of study is an option at your school of choice. Latent Homosexuality: Paranoid Delusions Rage and Anxiety

The discussion on latent homosexuality found its way into the public arena when the July 26 edition of MSNBC hyped Ann Coulter's interview with host Donny Deutsch, which she said of former President Bill Clinton exhibts "some sort of latent homosexuality." When Coulter was asked by the host if she was indeed calling Clinton a "latent homosexual," Coulter replied, "Yeah." "The level of rampant promiscuity by Clinton does show some level of latent homosexuality." In support of her assessment, of Clinton, Coulter mentioned "passages" she had memorized from the Starr Report resulting from the investigation into the Monica Lewinsky controversy. Latent homosexuality is an erotic tendency toward members of the same sex which is not consciously experienced or expressed in overt action. The term was originally proposed by Sigmund Freud. According to Freud, "latent" or "unconscious" homosexuality which derived from failure of the defense of repression and and sublimation permit or threaten emergence into consciousness of homosexual impulses, which give rise to conflict manifested in the appearance of symptoms. These symptoms include fear of being homosexual, dreams with manifest and "latent" homosexual content, conscious homosexual fantasies and impulses, homosexual panic, disturbance in heterosexual functioning, and passive-submissive responses to other males. The Freudian position on latent homosexuality is summarized in this quotation by Karl Abraham: "In normal individuals the homosexual component of the sexual instinct undergoes sublimation. Between men, feelings of unity and friendship become divested of all sexuality. The man of normal feeling is repelled by any physical contact implying tenderness with another of his own sex. ...Alcohol suspends these feelings. When they are drinking, men will fall upon one another's necks and kiss each other ... when sober, the same men will term such conduct effeminate. ... The homosexual components which have been repressed and sublimated by the influences of education become unmistakably evident under the influence of alcohol." In keeping with this train of thoughts, it is not unusual for individuals who exhibit characteristics of latent homosexuality often find themselves drawn to ultra-masculine professions, such as policeman and fireman; to name a few. Many professional sports also serve as a magnet for latent homosexuals, especially the more violent and aggressive sports. The two sports boxing and wresting latent homosexuality is quite evident. And where many of the features involved in the act of intercourse between two lovers are present in the ring. For example, in both boxing and wrestling the participant hug, embrace, stroke the opponent's sweaty and scantly-covered body like any couple engaged in sexual activities. Many psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapists postulate the theory that both the boxer and the wrestler experience profound rage and guilt for their exhibitionist conduct, and for giving in to their homosexual desires. Therefore, each participant is highly-motivated to punish each other, sometime ending in death, for gratifying the unconscious homosexual desire to embrace and make love to another man. However, the term, latent homosexuality, as commonly used in clinical practice assumes psychological characteristics. It is important to stress that the term is not used in reference to overt homosexual who attempts to suppress his homosexuality and tries to lead a heterosexual life, it applies only to heterosexuals. Many writers and some researchers have questioned the validity of latent homosexuality on both theoretical and clinical grounds. Others have expressed the opinions that latent homosexuality has been a convenient psychopathological "catch-all" category in which many types pathology are assigned, often, with little or no relationship to homosexuality. Many who questioned the term "latent homosexuality" were indeed skeptical of the "latency" concept. In an effort to put this concern to rest a group of scientific researchers headed by Irving Bieber published their conclusion in 1963 titled; Homosexuality. A Psychoanalytic Study: By Irving Bieber, et al. This study was very broad and extensive. Bieber and his associated proved beyond doubts that the "latency" concept was an appropriate criteria by which latent homosexuality is usually diagnosed. However, more than four decades after the Bieber's study was published skeptism about the vilidity of latent homosexuality is generating lively discussions in the public arena. The gladiators at the Freudian gate should know that help is on the way. A modern day version of Bieber and associates in the form of three psychologist: H. E. Adams, L. W. Wright, Jr., and B. A. Lohr, who conducted an experiment to test Freud's hypothesis. The conclusion was published in the Journal of Abnormal Psychology 105 (1996), under the title, "Is Homophobia Associates with Homosexual Arousal?" The finding of this study concluded that those who exhabited the most hostile and negative attitudes towards homosexuals demonstrated the hightest level of sexual arousal when exposed to homosexual pornography. In others words, their homophobia was a "reaction formation" designed to protect them from their own internal homosexual desires. Paranoid Delusions Since the publication of Freud's analysis of the Schreber case in 1911 psychotherapists and psychoanalysts have accepted the theory that there is a strong connection between latent homosexuality and paranoid delusions. Freud provided a skillful exposition of the theory that paranoid delusions represent various means in which the paranoid individual denies his latent homosexual desires. Freud theory had been confirmed repeatedly in many clinical studies of every researcher who worked with paranoid clients. An intense homosexual conflict is always present in the male paranoiac and is clearly obvious in the individual's history and clinical material in the early stage of the illness. Homophobia Hostility and discrimination against homosexual individuals are well-documented facts. Too often these negative attitudes end in verbal and physical acts of violence against homosexual individuals. In fact, upward of 90% of homosexual men and lesbians report being the subject of verbal abuse and threats, and better than one-third are survivors of violent attacks related to their homosexuality. These attitudes and behaviors toward homosexuals are labeled homophobia. Homophobia is defined as terror of being in close quarters with homosexual men and women, and an irrational fear, hatred, and intolerance by heterosexual individuals of homosexual men and lesbians. Psychoanalysts use the concept of repressed or latent homosexuality to explain the emotional malaise and irrational attitudes exhibited by individuals who feel guilty about their erotic interests and struggle to deny and repress homosexual impulses. In fact, when these individuals are placed in a situation that threatens to excite their own unwanted homosexual thoughts, they may overreact with panic, anger, or even murderous rage. To better understand this rage I direct the reader to what happened on Jenny Jones show. On March 06, 1995, Scott Amedure (who's openly gay) appeared with Jonathan Schmitz on Jenny Jones talk show. Amedure revealed that he had a secret affection for Schmitz. Schmitz was not flattered, rather, he felt embarrassed and humiliated; off camera Schmitz expressed anger and rage. Three days after the show Schmitz purchased a shotgun. He drove to Amedure's trailer and shot him twice through the heart, killing him. It is commonly agreed among most researchers that anxiety about homosexuality typically does not occur in individuals who are same-sex oriented, but usually involves individuals who are ostensibly heterosexual and have difficulty coming to term with their homosexual feelings and impulses. Adams, H.E., Wright, L.W., and Lohr, B.A., Is Homophobia Associated with Homosexual Arousal?" Journal of Abnormal Psychology, 105 (1996): 440-445. Bieber, Irving, et al. The Affects Of Stammering-Stuttering - How Having A Speech Impediment Can Impact One's Life

Having a speech impediment is no laughing matter, far from it. I should know after having had a stammer, or as some people call it a stutter, for eighteen years. If I were to describe what my life was like during this period I would just say that it was 'a battle'. In this article I am going to be writing about some of the struggles that I had to deal with and about how the stammer affected my life. The average fluent person does not realise just how lucky they are. Having a stammer affects your ability to carry out what should be the most simplest of tasks. As an example, I will never forget the time when I was around eighteen years of age, when I went to purchase some petrol. After filling up the car I proceeded to enter the shop to pay etc. The lady behind the counter asked me which petrol pump I had used, for whatever reason I had not even looked and therefore had to take a quick check. I saw that it was pump number seven and straight away a demon came into my head and informed me that I would not be able to say the word. I have always attempted to ignore these voices from my head; however this is easier said than done. The lady asked me again and guess what? Yes, I could not say the word and it came out as ssssssssssssssseven. I felt totally humiliated, not for the first time of course, but tried to act as if I had said it fluently. From that day forward I made sure that I did not use pump number seven again! Similar things would happen to me when ordering items such as drinks from a bar. I would revert to pointing at a certain bottle of beer and would hold up three fingers to signal that I wanted three bottles, as a way of coping. I should be enjoying going out socialising with my friends but instead it would turn into one big choir. Attending an interview, making a phone call, answering the phone, reading out aloud from a book at school and general conversation were other areas of weakness. Surely life should not be this difficult. I took heart from the fact that I would not stammer when I was singing, when I was shouting or when I was drunk. I felt confident that I would one day achieve fluency, this day arrived twelve years ago when I was aged twenty two. Life now seems so easy! Steve Hill is a webmaster from Birmingham, he has interests in a number of websites including: therapy for stammering information about stuttering stuttering therapy

Systemic Abuse - The Challenge Facing Domestic Abuse Survivors

I lived systemic abuse; I write about it, I know it from the core of my being. But, I never understood it so thoroughly until I was asked to explain it to someone whose life was altered dramatically by it. What is systemic abuse? The word systemic is defined as relating to or referring to the whole organism. I liken systemic abuse to any systemic disease. It erodes the very elements that sustain the organism. Systemic abuse, as I see it, is the manifestation of abuse by that deemed to protect the abused. The net result: the perpetuation of domestic violence by the very systems that purport to stop it. Survivors of domestic abuse far too often meet systemic abuse face-to-face in their efforts to seek safety from an abusive partner. She* can be the defendant in a domestic abuse arrest, the party restrained by an ex-part order of protection, the protective parent with supervised visitation or the battered mother cut out of her abused childrens lives. These victims are black, white, yellow and many of mixed origin. They are rich, poor, professional and many without technical skills. There are as many variations of the story of systemic abuse as there are people living it. And when its yours, you know it; not only do you feel violated, but you also see no aid, no options and you that learn you are your first responder. What causes systemic abuse? A) The systemic abuse players greed, ignorance and absence of their professional ethics and fiduciary responsibility. B) The intimate partner abusers need to save face, get even and, last but not least, to maintain control. When you put the pathology of a perpetrator together with an economically driven industry or with a blind legal and/or healthcare system, you get the most perverted self-sustaining abuse dynamic that you could ever imagine. Sadly, the mere placement of the intimate partner abuser together with the players of systemic abuse may even led to the perpetrator falling prey to the systemic abuse. Ive seen many cases where systemic abusers keep perpetrators engaged with promises to carry out their mission to destroy their victims. Once they have turned the batterer upside down and shaken every dime out of his pockets, systemic abusers let the perpetrator go. Then, there are those batterers who rise above this ploy by filing for bankruptcy when the game is over. How do you know you are engaged in systemic abuse? There are a few compelling tip-offs that evidence systemic abuse. A) Law enforcement denies you the right to press charges or file a complaint for a documented breach of the criminal law. Massage Schools - More Than Just Your Average Trade School

Contrary to common belief, massage schools offer more than just coursework in massage and bodywork; there are a great number of massage schools that provide in-depth curriculums in anatomy and physiology, entailing diverse levels of instruction in cellular, tissue, organ, molecular, musculoskeletal, endocrine, and central nervous systems. Students will gain a general understanding of how the body functions, and how these systems work together in order to maintain balanced homeostasis. Other vital training may involve skills in communication, basic business, and relevant massage practice software instruction. Aside from pathology and clinical practice, massage schools also provide education and training in body mechanics; more specifically, kinesiology. As a science, kinesiology shows the interrelationship between muscles and human movement. Massage therapy students will learn how this biological function is integral to overall wellbeing, and will use this knowledge to further their massage skills. Okay, now comes the best part of massage training: the diverse modalities that are offered. In addition to standard massage therapies such as Swedish massage, sports massage, deep tissue and reflexology, massage schools also afford extensive training in Shiatsu, acupressure, Chinese medical massage, Tuina, Lomi Lomi, neuromuscular therapy, lymphatic drainage, cranial sacral therapy, and over 100 other massage modalities! In addition, many massage students will opt to continue their education and specialize in one advanced field, such as chiropractics or acupuncture. Massage schools teach these and other unique massage therapies so students are better able to expand their expertise and practice. Those who successfully finish their massage training may attain a certificate of completion or diploma (depending on the individual school). While each school and state vary in educational requirements, it is wise for prospective students to carefully review curriculums so all necessary requirements can be met to achieve appropriate certification and/or diploma. Hypertension, An Alternative Approach

For many years high blood pressure has been defined based upon actuarial tables prepared by life insurance companies. By that definition, blood pressure of 140/90 is borderline hypertension in a person 40 years of age. The suppressed fact is that blood pressure should rise by 5 points for every decade of life. Therefore, 145/95 is borderline hypertension in a person of 50 years old; 150/100, in a person 60 years of age, etc. However, that standard is almost never applied in prescribing high blood pressure medications. Recently, a new standard is being applied: 120/80 (for years the gold standard in blood pressure) has been redefined as "pre-hypertension," with the recommendation that medication be prescribed. And, there is no allowance for increasing age. So, we see headlines such as "Hypertension - An Emerging Epidemic" on WebMD. Another very important fact is that most primary hypertension is diagnosed as "idiopathic," which basically means the doctors do not know what's causing it. We've had a variety of medical recommendations for years, but the overall impact has been minimal (as evidenced by the statistic in paragraph 1, above). These recommendations include: 1) drug therapy, 2) exercise, 3) dietary restrictions on salt and fat, 4) weight loss, and 5)avoidance of drugs, including tobacco and caffeine. The medical point of view is that lifestyle changes are inadequate.2 I would like to share with you the basic mechanism of "essential" or "idiopathic" hypertension. These terms are applied to primary hypertension unrelated to an underlying disease of the kidney or diabetes. Essential hypertension is the body's physiologic response to insuring an adequate blood supply to the brain. For a moment, we need to digress so that you have a picture of how the circulatory system for the brain works. Inside the cranial vault, the blood reaches the brain through the carotid and vertebral arteries. It is drained out into the jugular vein through a system of sinuses which are actually formed by the meningeal membranes. The meningeal membranes (or dura) are the fibrous structures which separate the lobes of the brain and actually give the brain its shape. They include the falx cerebri (which divides the two cerebral hemispheres), the tentorium cerebelli (which separates the cerebellum from the occipital lobe of the cerebral hemispheres), the falx cerebelli (which divides the cerebellar hemispheres) and the diaphragma sellae (which covers the depression in the skull in which the pituitary resides).3 {You may visit my website RichardsFamilyHealth.com and view the articles on "Cranial" to view a cross section of these structures.} Being membranous, the dura is affected by distortions in the cranial vault, resulting in twisting of the sinuses and restriction of the outflow of blood from the brain. Therefore, to bring in more fresh blood and oxygen, higher peripheral pressure is required to force through the blockage. While in school, I was privileged to see a dissection of an unpreserved cadaver, demonstrating the lines of stress in the dura due to cranial distortions. Strokes may occur when the cranium shifts, suddenly allowing a surge of high pressure through the fragile capillaries in the brain. Interesting confirmation of this mechanism comes from veterinary medicine. A giraffe has a peripheral blood pressure of about 350/300 in order to get blood to the brain. Yet, their intracranial pressure is very similar to humans. They also have a specialized vascular structure at the base of their brain to compensate for changes in pressure as they raise and lower their heads while feeding and drinking. The critical point is that the higher pressure is necessary to pump the blood up into the brain. So, the question becomes: What can be done about essential hypertension? Probably the most effective way to control it is through cranial adjusting, restoring normal motion to the cranial vault and removing the restrictions which cause the pressure to rise. I have spoken to many alternative health practitioners, and the consensus of opinion is that the effect of herbal interventions is minimal, compared to the benefits of cranial adjusting. As an added benefit, cranial therapy is completely free of side effects! {See my article on the side effects of high blood pressure medications at www.richardsfamilyhealth.com).} Of course, if there is underlying pathology, either diabetes or renal disease, that process needs to be addressed as well. In many instances, that means herbal therapy or nutritional supplements. Fusional Love

If one cannot define what is the love in a precise way, if one can only note that the literature and poetry charm us by their periphrases on the love without never giving an account completely of it, that since centuries, if the subject occupies so much our spirits and our intellect, it should not however be forgotten that we should not a priori accept any intellectual representation of the love under pretext which one names, commonly, all and anything under the term love and which the latter is often used to justify most contestable of the behaviors. In this article, we will be interested in a quite particular kind of love: fusional love. Often associated the representation of passion in love, this category of love (I will take here to the word love in its direction more general and most indefinite, most social also) offers many psychological dangers of which it can be interesting to realize. Behind the interesting term, we could develop this concept of utility, because once involved in a history of fusional love, it is often very difficult for intellect to take again the control of the situation which created a major emotional disorder. Archetypal images of the love passion All most all catholic country of tradition, has a relation very particular to the love like have it the other countries of the same tradition. Contrary to the Protestant tradition, the love is placed in the catholic tradition in the forefront of the good, in front of the law. This prevalence in the scale of values explains a tradition of the love in the Latin companies where one also speaks about love of God, a tradition which one observes much in literature in particular. The unconscious Latin collective (and Westerner on the whole in addition, are filled up archetypal images of the love passion, mythical couples with the tragic destinies (Tristan and Iseult, Romeo and Juliette, etc) and traditional stories turning around loves passion. The penal code holds even a special section with the crime personnel which can be seen like a psychological loss of control and to give extenuating circumstances in a judgment for homicide. The attraction of the literature for these drifts of the feeling in love somewhat masked a reflexion on the love which can be made by means of the psychoanalysis. There is of course no question of believing that the psychoanalysis will be able to explain the love; as a deeply human feeling, it is not very probable that no explanation is sufficient nor even credible logically. Nevertheless the use of certain psychoanalytical methods can be useful, if not to offer a reading of the love, at least to try a reading of the neurotic drifts of the love. In this direction, the subject is still often taboo. Behind this optics, the question will arise of what being called love is not love insofar as it aims at damaging the psychology of its protagonists. This reflexion will inevitably bring back for us to consider the archetypal images of the love and with exhiber of the completely important nuances of vocabulary compared to the commonly allowed directions of the words love and passion. Fusional love and love passion A semantic slip seems to have taken place progressively with time between love passion and fusional love. We will try to trace contours between the two concepts knowing the danger which such a separation represents. Nevertheless, we will approach in this will of distinction only the point of view of a certain unconscious collective, of an attempt at explanation of the differences rather than in real separation. The passion love, in the imaginary collective, is often a love of thunderbolt, in which one often finds a component sexual very marked. It is a love of excess, a love neurotic like known as Jung, for whom the thunderbolt is a manifestation of the neurosis, a love which can generate acts of violence between the members of the couples or towards the so-called enemies of this couple. The love passion is a love which we could describe as nonintellectual, two protagonists being submerged by their attraction one for the other beyond any reason. Is associated this representation of the love passion the tragedy of the couple, either in the destroying drift of the two actors, or in the destroying drift external people. The love passion is regarded as a love of an incredible intensity but one weak lifespan, it is a love of the abandonment of the reflexion. Some share, it is necessary to insist on the positive image that the love passion near the common run of people has. One often dreams of passion, of fear of perhaps being bored, like archetypal dream, joining the myth, making themselves higher than the others in the intensity of lived. Our intention, by this display of the commonplaces of the unconscious collective, is not to treat image of the love passion, nor to even comment on the vision of the thunderbolt as a neurosis, made by Jung. It is to be interested in the difference between the love passion and the love fusion. The fusional love is completely different in its structure even if it is often confused with the archetypal images which we have just evoked. Its origin is not an unconditional and nonintellectual attraction towards the person, but lies above all in the will to fill a vacuum and that by means of this fusion in the other. In this direction, the fusional love is often a calmer love, more intellectual, representing the other like the means essential to fill the vacuum in oneself. The fusional love is thus a love neurotic. The love passion was qualified like neurotic on behalf of Jung because of his definition of the neurosis. The neurosis is for him an imbalance between intellect and the feelings. In this direction, when one of the two components of psyche takes supremacy on the other in a durable way and enters in conflict with the other part, there is neurosis. The love passion would be thus a love neurotic due to an excess of significant passion and the love fusion a love neurotic due to an excess of intellect. Each type of psychology will have a tendency to make derive its notion of the love in a natural way towards one or the other of these neurotic demonstrations. Who more is, the reason of re-elected love passion in our Western companies is that this type of love is less intellectual and thus nearer to our Judeo-Christians roots, more immediate, more naturalness in what it makes derive the love towards excess from sensitive, towards the possession of psyche whole by passion. The fusional love, on the other hand, is a more discrete but revealing love of a disorder often larger of the personality, insofar as this disorder is durable. This love is often confused with the love passion insofar as during the rupture, it can also start unverifiable accesses of madness (violence's, suicide, etc). Its demonstrations a posteriori are thus close to the demonstrations a priori of the love passion but its structure is very different. Structure of the fusional love The fusional love, as we said, comes from a lack which is filled by the other. It is ambiguous to qualify neurotic this established fact, since with the love often the lack of the other is essential. In this direction, a clarification is necessary: the lack of the fusional love is a lack which preexists to the love, it is an individual lack which is an emotional lack with the paces of pit. The roots of this lack are to be sought in the personal past of the person, in particular in the physical and/or psychological absence of the relative of sex opposed during childhood. A contraries of the love passion, the fusional love is thus asymmetrical whereas the love passion is symmetrical in excess. The part played by the two protagonists is completely different, the first having an emotional internal lack very important to fill and the second of the tendencies natural to want to believe that it can fill it. One will quote in the predispositions which carry out to believe that one can fill the major emotional vacuum of a person the following features: - the kindness, - the weakness of character, - the syndrome of the charming prince, - the over-estimate of the loved person due to an under valuation of its own value, - the imbalance of psyche too intellectual and not sensitive enough. The mechanics of this kind of love is thus a setting in phase of two people for which one has emotional needs to fill and the other thinks of being able to fill them. Once again, I repeat that the quantification of these needs is, in the case of the fusional love, very important and due to other factors that the simple fact of liking. The disorder of psyche of the personality in lack is former to the couple. The unicity of the love Very quickly in the life of the couple, the difficulty of the unicity of this love in purely intellectual terms arises. It is a question of being convinced that this love is single and thus to re-sift the archetypal images of the impassioned couples, whereas we saw that this representation was erroneous in the case of the fusional love. Of course, any love is single in what it relates to two people who are they-also single. But behind this single love, the fusional couple tries to position in a competition intellectual with the other couples: it is necessary to manage to make couple what the others do not manage to do. Like any intellectual love, the concept of challenge and perfection emerges quickly in the positioning of the couple towards itself and the external world. This process leads to a very easy judgment on the external people with the couple and to a raising the moral standard based on the fact that this particular couple is higher than the others by far insofar as it is welded more that others. In this direction, this kind of couple is often regarded inventors of the love and not as discoverers of this one, which is completely different, the first being located in a simplistic scale of value at the top of the seconds. Moreover, the purpose of this setting in prospect for the couple as it is exceptional be to flatter not very stable individual egos: the person in emotional lack finding the means there glorifier of having built something while the person little ensured of itself draws from the couple an insurance of loan related to the image that the couple has itself. The psyche common one Each one finding in the intellectual representation of the couple its immediate happiness and the means of developing itself will have a tendency natural to cultivate this common representation, to reinforce it, cherish it, with the deifier. This stage is built by means of the integration in this psych common (which is a true closed reference frame) of elements of personalities coming from the two protagonists. The psyche common one is thus a mixture of both psyches given that that this mixture is incomplete compared to each one because it contains only the representation shared of each psyche. This remark very important insofar as, this is structurally psyche common caricature of each one, The evidence of love Why does one make vis--vis this kind of mechanism? Why moreover seek one answer to this question? There is an answer to this question because the fusional couple is a intellectual couple and thus there is a very intellectual reason with the construction of this psyche common. The reason in is simple. The person having the vacuum to fill cannot rely on the love, because this one is indemonstrable . There is thus need for evidence of love, evidence which is completely useless in the case of the love passion where the love is there and even often too there. This evidence passes by the establishment of a common reference frame stable and demonstrable. It is necessary that the couple is tangible psychologically, that its reactions are foreseeable and can be associated the love. It should be proven at every moment that the emotional pit must fill. Necessarily, to arrive at such ends, each one must yield with the domination of psyche common which, as a shared intellectual representation, does not have anything any more human, but is on the contrary cold and abstract construction in which the needs or the characteristics of each one are caricatured. Loss of personality and confusion of the feelings To yield with psyche common is a true psychological torture that only people having a developed intellectual side can support for questions of principle (in particular that to have built a perfect couple . To endorse this common personality, it is first of all necessary to deny its intrinsic personality in the name of the love which one carries to the other . Then, it is necessary to live with this cold and incomplete personality like a dress of ice, therefore to make repression of its feelings and its singularity a permanent state. To endorse a common personality for rational reasons is thus a way necessary towards the characterized neurosis. Let us note that this obligatory psychological punishment is of an extreme violence against oneself and has thus nothing to see with the love. Certain behavioral demonstrations could make laugh if they were not so serious: one is for example, once this common personality entered in us, able to be certain (intellectually gets along) knowledge what the other thinks constantly and to answer by the thought of the other when somebody asks us what one one thinks oneself. The fusional love thus leads mechanically to a chronic schizophrenia. Rupture The end of the adventure in love fusional cannot be, formally that of only one kind: the abdication of the person having believed to be able to fill the vacuum. In the facts, several types of behaviors can be observed: - brutal stop of the relationship to a very great difficulty of keeping reports/ratios would be this only normal with the people formerly in fusional love; - escapes structural of the person who believed capacity to fill the emotional vacuum; - mental annihilation of the person who is not authorized any more to think by oneself; - suicide of the one of the two people, either because of a lack of evidence of love, or because of an unbearable psychic presence of this psyche common (psychological vampirism). The person having the emotional lack to fill will be able to develop, in the continuation of her neurosis, an attachment particular to this common personality and to make it live only by making it speak and continuously to develop accesses of chronic schizophrenia, in particular through reproaches with the other not to make what was well for itself, that is to say to continue to build on the late couple. It is necessary to have a very good analyst to manage to bring back these people towards themselves, nature making that, in this case, the complementary personality resulting from the remains from psyche common is always reassuring, like an echo with the past. One will be able only to deplore this established fact and to note that the forces gathered several personalities in the same person are often fights some against the analyst in order to show to him that all is well and that it investigate of dummy roads, and at the bottom, in order to continue to exist in psyche of the patient to refuse the fear of creating a new vacuum while looking after itself. It is possible that the psychoanalysis is not, for this kind of patients, of any utility and that the analyst sees himself obliged to give up.The other type of actor who believed capacity to fill the vacuum will be able to deal with very important risks of relapse with an attraction for comparable psychologies people in serious emotional lack. The analysis appears to be more useful in this case. It is necessary nevertheless to insist on resistance that one can wait of an intellect which was accustomed to function on a neurotic mode and which will have to take again self-awareness on a normal mode. The fusional love could be, ultimately, a pathology of the intellect which threatens the integrity of the reasoning themselves while using of the systematic repression on the sensitive side. Conclusion Under the term of love hide very important dangers, i.e. an underestimation of the psychological dangers related to certain relations and a latent confusion of the feelings due to an ignorance of common psychological pathologies. If it were necessary to give simple qualifiers to the love, we could try the following: - the love should not draw aside from oneself, - the love is achievement of oneself with the other, - the achievement of the other is a joy of the love, - the love is to feel happy when the other is happy (and not to want its happiness while presupposing to know what good through the is psyche to him common one), - if there is strong relation in love, there is not control with a named abstract entity couple. To leave the images of a real scene of each individuals, even within the couple, it is what should allow the love. However, often, the love forces the latent features neurotic, underlines them, the door with their apogee. In other words, it is not because it is said that there is love that there is love, it is not because one seeks to be convinced that one knows what is the love that one knows what is the love. Mistrust towards the love which is most beautiful of the things of the life and which can be one of most dangerous. Sexuality and Love love and attaration sex and mysticism Personality Disorder

The Root Cause Of Diseases

Barring injury, emergencies, or complications resulting from injury, such as hemorrhaging, broken bones, etc.., let us begin with conditions that are classified as diseases. Generally speaking, diseases are caused by any or all of 3 factors - namely enervation, toxemia or deficiency. You may find an excellent source of energy principle in healing at: treatments-4-incurable-diseases.us TOXEMIA - TOXIC SUBSTANCES IN THE BODY There are 2 sources of toxemia: (a) Toxemia which is caused by the ingestion and accumulation of substances which are foreign to the body and toxic in nature, such as chemicals, drugs, etc. These produce irritation, inflammation and pathology in bodily organs and systems. (b) Toxemia which is due to the accumulation of toxic wastes resulting from the food and beverages we eat and drink; unnatural food or natural food in excess beyond what the body can use at the moment. Retention of this excess leads to decomposition of the food and the production of irritating and toxic chemical wastes, which provide a fertile field for the growth of microbes and various species of bacteria, which further increase the toxic state. DEFICIENCIES Deficiencies: The insufficiency of necessary food substances, such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals, vitamins, enzymes etc., lead to breakdown of cells, tissues and organs which is given names of diseases, according to its location. ENERVATION AND TOXEMIA CYCLE John Henry Tilden, M.D., formulated a theory of the cause of disease as due to a recurring cycle of enervation and toxemia. Enervation is the reduction or loss of energy occasioned by the lack of rest or sleep, or the excessive use of emotion, negative thoughts, worry, stress, or the overdoing of physical actions, overeating etc. Enervation leads to a reduction of the body's ability to digest, absorb, assimilate and excrete body wastes - thus leading to a retention of wastes in the cells and tissues and thereby causing disease. Disease, in turn, causes a depletion of the body's energies, requiring more energy to maintain the normal state of homeostasis than ordinarily needed. This excess expenditure of power leads to a slowdown in bodily function, which is followed by an increased retention of bodily toxins in a cycle. This ingenious cycle of enervation and toxemia as being the cause of all diseases (barring accidents or trauma) may be regarded as absolutely true if you add the additional factor of deficiencies (which is omitted in the theory). A Toast to Resveratrol, an Amazing Grape Antioxidant

One of the most well-known stories about the health benefits of eating fruit is called the French Paradox the condition of unexpected low incidence of cardiovascular disease in French citizens who regularly eat extraordinary quantities of high-fat foods and consume red wine. These people technically should have high rates of cardiovascular disease but seem protected by the chemicals in wine. Although we now recognize that high-fat diets are undesirable, the potential benefits of a diet rich in whole food phytochemicals are clear when combined with other healthy dietary and lifestyle practices, such as maintaining a regular exercise program. Possibly the most publicized phytochemical in red wine is resveratrol found in the skin and seeds of red and purple grapes and dark berries like the blueberry. Having the chemical formula C14H12O3, resveratrol is chemically defined as a stilbene, viniferin or phytoalexin (a Greek-derived term meaning to protect (alexin) or to ward off). This designation suits the function of resveratrol in the outer skin of plants as a primary fungicide and antiviral agent with potent antioxidant properties protecting against ultraviolet radiation, pests and injury. Resveratrol belongs to the general class of plant chemicals called phenolics or polyphenols, named from their composition of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen atoms in 6-carbon rings. Benefits of Resveratrol By consuming blue, red, purple and black-skinned plants rich in resveratrol, humans may gain these protective benefits. Early medical research proves this to be true, as resveratrol has been shown in preliminary research on experimental animals to: Increase blood flow and reduce the extent of brain cell damage following stroke Reduce the activity of brain inflammatory mediators in a model of Alzheimers disease Reduce vascular plaque formation in rats given a high-fat diet Improve the rate of healing in skin wounds Protect against lipid oxidation in a model of pancreatitis Protect against cellular pathology in a model of diabetic kidney disease Protect against liver damage in a model of cholestasis or bile duct occlusion Protect against cartilage deterioration in a model of osteoarthritis Stimulate anti-clotting mechanisms in blood Suppress appetite and in turn contribute to weight control or loss Enhance sperm production Inhibit formation of cataracts Inhibit proliferation of the herpes simplex virus Prolong the lives of yeast cells, worms, fish and fruit flies, possibly through mechanisms that affect aging via slowing the rate of cell death Anti-Cancer Effect Resveratrols most compelling health effect shown in laboratory studies is its broad-spectrum anti-cancer activity. The online database of medical literature for the US National Institutes of Health, PubMed, cites nearly 500 publications over the past decade of research on resveratrol as a cancer chemopreventive nutrient. Experimental models of breast, prostate, lung, blood, skin, brain, kidney, bladder, tongue, esophagus and colon cancer show evidence for beneficial effects of resveratrol. It appears also to sensitize cells toward cancer therapy agents, improving the benefit of these drugs. Also, when combined with other plant-derived phenolics, resveratrols anti-cancer actions seem to be enhanced, showing the potential benefits of antioxidant synergy from a mixed diet high in colorful fruits and vegetables rich in phytochemicals. Resveratrols actions to inhibit inflammatory mediators and the growth of new blood vessels in tumors (called anti-angiogenesis), plus its ability to accelerate the rate of cancer cell death (called apoptosis, eh-po-toe-sis), are synergistic effects in anti-cancer activity. In other experiments, resveratrol inhibited enzymes synthesizing nitro-oxygen radicals like nitric oxide that may be involved in cancer development. To summarize, resveratrol acts against mechanisms controlling the initiation, promotion and progression of tumor cell growth in laboratory models. It is considered one of the most promising natural anti-cancer agents. Fortunately for us, resveratrol can be easily introduced into the diet by selecting foods like: o Red grapes and dark grape juice o Red wines (and even white ones, but with lower resveratrol levels) o Blackberries, blueberries, cranberries and lingonberries (and their juices) o Pistachios o Peanuts with skins and peanut butter Take home message: Eat berries! Drink red wine! And be merry! Reading PubMed at http://pubmed.gov; type resveratrol AND in the search space, add the topic of your interest, and click on Go to view literature. Perps Go South of the Border

Mexico is a country decorated with sandy beaches, beautiful bronze-colored bikini clad women, and Tequilas under the sun. It is also a country known as a safe haven for individuals accused of very serious crimes. The resort towns of Cancun and Puerto Vallarta are two points of preferred interest for all criminals alike. History has shown that many criminals choose Mexico as a country where they feel they can avoid the long arm of American law. Max Factor heir, Andrew Luster, was living in Puerto Vallarta at the time of his arrest by reality TV host and bounty hunter, Duane "The Dog" Chapman. After murdering his wife and three children in 2001, Christian Longo sought out Cancun as his private place to vacate. At the time of his arrest, Longo was living in a grass shack and dating a new woman when FBI agents with the help of the Mexican federales came knocking on his door to apprehend him. More recently in the news, Byron Keith Perkins, a federal prisoner serving time for drug distribution and firearms charges, was re-arrested in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico after being released from federal prison back in January 2006 so that he could donate a kidney to his son. Sadly, he never showed up for the compatibility tests needed prior to a kidney donation but instead fled the country leaving his son to find another donor. Since the early days of the United States, countless murderers, drug dealers, horse thieves, rapists, and tax evaders have looked to Mexico as their place of preference. So what is it about Mexico? There are so many places in the U.S. for culprits to hide, why do they choose to make their run south of the border? Is it for lunch at Taco Bell? There are several reasons why criminals opt to make this country their safety nest. 1. For one, Mexico has a long history of refusing to extradite suspects who face life in prison or the death penalty. Their court system sees capital punishment and life without the possibility of parole as forms of cruel and unusual punishment. They do, however, favor rehabilitation for the criminal. Unless American authorities are willing to reduce the potential sentence for a perpetrator of a crime, Mexican authorities are reluctant to extradite a suspect. 2. Mexico is a country whose authorities are perceived to be anarchistic. Political and police corruption are widespread such that a fugitive with deep pockets can pass a few dollars to an underpaid Mexican police officer to buy his way out of an arrest. Mexico has a poor track record of sending fugitives back north of the Rio Grande river. For Americans who make a "run for the Bell," it could be years for U.S. authorities to get them back if they have a good lawyer in Mexico unless Mexico sees no reason to keep a fugitive. For Mexican citizens who flee to their own country, it is even harder for U.S. officials to bring them in to face justice. The reason for this trend is that many Mexican nationals have families to whom they can turn when seeking asylum from the American legal system. Americans on the other hand are considered outsiders with no roots in Mexico. Unless the American is rich and can support himself in this developing country that provides very few jobs, he has a greater chance of being caught by Mexican law enforcement to face extradition to the U.S. If the U.S. wants really bad a fugitive living in Mexico, American authorities will just travel there and arrest him themselves. In 1990, this is what happened when the U.S. paid Mexican nationals to kidnap Humberto Alvarez-Machain, a physician from Guadalajara, who was charged by the U.S. of being present when DEA agent Enrique Camarena was handcuffed, tortured, and murdered in 1985 while he was investigating ties between large drug cartels and Mexican officials. Mexican mercenaries flew Alvarez-Machain to the U.S. to face trial in the federal agent's death. For the American citizen, Mexico is more than just a place for suntans and Tequilas. It is a place of refuge for criminals who refuse to be prosecuted. Fabiola Castillo is an online marketer for the website NinjaCOPS SuperStore.
